According to the Property Management Services Ordnance (PMSO), the Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) must keep:
a) a PMC register;
b) a PMP (Tier 1) register;
c) a PMP (Tier 2) register;
d) a provisional PMP (Tier 1) register; and
e) a provisional PMP (Tier 2) register.
The purpose of keeping the registers is to enable a member of the public to ascertain:
a) whether a business entity is a licensed PMC;
b) whether an individual is a licensed PMP or a licensed provisional PMP; and
c) the particulars of a licensed PMC, licensed PMP or licensed provisional PMP.
The information contained in the registers must not be used for purposes that are not related to the purpose of the registers. The use of information provided is subject to the provisions in the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486).
A person may, on payment of the prescribed fee ($100 for each request plus $2 for each page on an A4 size paper or $4 for each page on an A3 size paper), obtain from the PMSA a copy of the whole or a part of a register kept by the PMSA (except the part regarding the conviction record (if any) of the licensed PMC (if not a company), licensed PMP or licensed provisional PMP concerned in relation to disciplinary offences or criminal offences under the PMSO).
The online registers contain most of the information contained in the original registers to facilitate access by the public. The original registers are available for inspection free of charge at the PMSA office.
